I love creating assemblage art using small objects like bottle caps or these Altoid Tins. I decide on a theme for each box and embellish it on all sides. Some even come with a little treasure inside. They make fun gifts or you can collect them for yourself. #divadesignart #altoidtin
Michael Demeng has been an assemblage artist of the weird and wonderful for years. His style is truly unique making you feel intrigued and fascinated. He has inspired me in my own artist weird world with his designs. #michaeldemeng
My talented friend, Mickie McCormic, is a doll maker (along with other forms of art). She came up with an idea of having various artists including me make a doll with the theme secrets. She provided the body form and we designed the rest. This was my creation, named 'Pinky Swear.' She holds my secrets both fun and serious to create a weird and wonderful doll.
The project was such a success she published an article on our work in Art Doll Quarterly. What a great experience.
One of my first metalsmithing workshops was with the talented Christine Cox, where we made a book from scratch. I learned so many great techniques in manipulating metal along with learning more about bookmaking.
I have tons of beads but some are too special to leave in a box. Display them on the wall to enjoy them as art and inspiration for a new project. #divadesignart
I've been fortunate to have more than one studio during my lifetime. Being able to have everything in view with no apologies for taking up the room. It's more than just a studio, it's part of my identity. It's my space to play, relax, reflect, dilly dally, research, and go crazy making art!
Use magnets and nylon-coated wire to hang bead/wirework tools out of the way.
Travel Tool Box for beading and wirework.
